What Are Joint-Venture Webinars?

When it comes to choosing different marketing strategies for your business; collaborations and referrals stand the test of time. They aren’t trendy, or reliant on any social media algorithms, and they don’t require huge capital investments.

Collaborations are also pretty flexible and there are countless ways to partner up with another business in your industry. So many, in fact, that it can sometimes be hard to choose which way to go.

But, in my experience, it’s always best to move forward with a collaboration that works for your business model in tandem with your energy, your time, and your accessibility requirements—as well as your collaborator’s.

So, if you are someone who:

  • loves showing up live to host live sales webinars, live workshops, or live trainings

  • has a validated scalable offer (digital product or online service) that you want to market

  • already has warm connections, or is willing to make new ones, with potential collaborators

  • believes in the power of live video to make connections with your potential clients & customers

  • bonus: has a webinar/workshop/training you have successfully hosted to your audience in the past

…then I want to introduce you to a little thing called ‘Joint Venture Webinars’.

Joint Venture Webinars (a.k.a. ‘JV Webinars’) are a wonderful fusion of the power of live video and the power of collaborations in one tidy bundle

Keep reading to learn more about JV Webinars and get an idea of whether or not this People-Led Marketing Strategy is a good fit for you or not!

What are Joint Venture Webinars?

There are lots of definitions of JV Webinars floating around the interwebz. For the purposes of this blog post, my definition of JV Webinars is this:

JV Webinars are live sales webinars created & presented by one person, or business, and hosted for another person’s, or businesses’, audience—with the revenue of any sales made during, and after, the webinar being split between both parties.

The live webinar is usually one person’s responsibility to create & present, but it could also be co-created and co-hosted live webinar between both parties.

What are the benefits of JV Webinars?

With JV Webinars, you can:

  • grow your email list - as people sign up for your webinars, your email list will grow!

  • increase your visibility - your brand name will be shared by your JV partner and your webinar registration pages will be viewed by new audiences!

  • build trust with a new audience - when you host a JV Webinar, you are able to engage in a live conversation with your audience, which helps establish trust with them. They can see, in real-time, how much you know about your zone of magic.

  • establish your authority - by building a connection with webinar attendees via live video, you are showing up in your zone of magic and establishing yourself as an authority in your niche! The intersection of live video & relationships is what makes JV Webinars so powerful: with a fusion of live video (which is inescapably effective as a marketing strategy) and People-Led collaboration, you can build a stronger connection with your future clients & your collaborators.

  • make more sales - with a smart JV webinar strategy, you'll be able to connect with the right potential customers from your offer.

  • cultivate connections - reaching out to the right people to host a JV webinar with will open up doors to new opportunities!

What can you promote in a JV Webinar?

JV Webinars work well for promoting most digital products and scalable services.

You can promote anything from a membership, online course, or all-access pass to a template store. You could also pitch something with more 1:1 time such as a mastermind, group program, VIP day, or productised service.

As JV Webinars can be quite time intensive to set up and run, I wouldn’t recommend hosting them for offers under $100 to allow them to be profitable for you and your business, and for the revenue split to be enough of an incentive for your collaborator.
